Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Developer, you will design, create and support applications that will enable Hines to become the best real estate investor, partner and manager. This senior role focuses on implementing and driving development of the team’s work. Handling team questions to bring clarity to implementation details is key for this role in the team. With a future focus, this role should review team work for maintainability and ease of use. Senior Software Developers have the responsibility for championing complex feature development. The senior software developer role will contribute to the knowledge bank for the application ecosystem. Provide hands on support for the development team during ongoing development efforts. During planning, this role sets task weighing to help with timing estimations during sprint scoping.

We interact with and serve all levels of employees worldwide meaning this will be a highly visible and collaborative role across the enterprise requiring very strong working relationships with other teams across Hines, Directors, and other leaders.

This position is a member of the Application Development team within the IT department at Hines.

Application development for the asset lifecycle, investment performance and account management processes

Lead team development efforts within a sprint

Assist with production and development system monitoring

Requirements gathering with the product owners through mindmapping and other specification techniques

Maintain and troubleshoot existing software applications in our growing application ecosystem

Organize and run code deployments during change windows

Keep up with an ever evolving application environment to help future proof application design

Communicate with a wide variety of clients, peers, and upper management to work directly with the business

Help maintain documentation code base during new feature development as well as changes to existing workflows

Guide and assist team members through development design and challenges

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or other related work experience from an accredited institution is strongly preferred

Four or more years of experience with software development in a team environment

Bonus to have a working knowledge of the real estate industry

Full-stack web development experience - Django preferred

Strong SQL experience with PostgreSQL and SQLServer

Responsive HTML / CSS design

Python 3

JavaScript

Reporting Tools

Familiarity with Agile Development

Linux experience and comfort

Dev Ops/Live Ops experience

Using nginx

UI / UX design

Apache 2

Jupyter Notebooks

Pandas, numpy, sci-kit or other python based math libraries
