Purpose:
As a Principal Piping Engineer at Worley, the successful candidate will be a part of a global team that delivers excellent project services to our customers throughout the world. He/She will be responsible for comprehensive engineering, design, and coordination services for projects in the piping engineering group.
Responsibilities:
Perform initial project planning regarding project scope, design basis, effort hour budget, staffing requirements, deliverables, and execution procedure.
Knowledgeable of company, department and project procedures and ensure all are followed throughout a project.
Establish and trend estimate quantities.
Participate in design reviews.
Monitor the progress for all piping engineering activities regarding budget, schedule, and staffing and report results to Project Management and Department Management.
Coordinate the efforts of multiple engineers assigned to a single project
Ensure the deliverable verification process, and that all deliverables are issued according to schedule.
Participate in weekly project discipline team meetings and conduct weekly piping design team meetings.
Proactively collaborate with internal teams and/or external third parties to meet project commitments, costs, and schedules
Support piping material requisition, technical bid evaluation and vendor documents of piping related items
Specify piping material classes, valves, and piping specialty items on Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
Conduct document checking and design verification tasks in accordance with company and project procedures
Select, specify, and requisition manual valves
Ensure all piping engineering team members are working according to Worley safety guidelines, and that all have successfully completed project specific safety training.

Minimum Requirements:
BS in Mechanical or related field
Experience in piping engineering
Strong technical skills in specification of piping systems and manual valves
Demonstrated understanding of ASME B31 and other piping codes
Experience with ASME B16 and other applicable industry standards
Knowledge of the engineering development process and typical piping engineering deliverables such as piping isometrics, piping line classes, line designation tables, specialty items, and material selection diagrams.
EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
Excellent organizational skills
Preferred:
Strong knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and AutoCAD
Expert-level knowledge of manual valves
Experience with Hexagon SmartPlant software tools – P&ID, Materials, Reference Data
Experience with AVEVA software tools
Experienced in providing estimates, manpower planning and discipline schedules for large projects
Professional License Registration in Texas
