For the expansion of our Finance team, argenx is looking for an EMEA G/L Accountant.You will be the E2E responsible for the accounting of several commercial legal entities located in the EMEA region. The position requires close collaboration with the other accounting teams, EMEA FP&A and the business. This role will report to the EMEA Accounting Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Execute accounting processes and operations and revenue recognition in accordance with local and corporate policies
Timely and accurate execution of the monthly, quarterly, half-year and year-end accounting closing process
Work in close relationship with Group Internal Control and External/Corporate Auditors in order to review, update and document business processes and accounting and financial policies in line with relevant framework to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Execute and document defined periodical SOX controls and account reconciliations
Coordinate and comply with local government reporting requirements and indirect tax filings
Manage local incoming payment processing and collections
Participate in improving the order-to-cash process in conjunction with the distribution flow, supply chain and inventory management processes
Being a SPOC/key contact for the EMEA (finance) team with continuous focus on E2E process improvements
Preparation of the statutory financial statements in accordance with the relevant accounting principles
Lead audits on the statutory financial statements
Collaborate with FP&A to support budget vs actual analysis and other overall department goals and objectives
Execute ad hoc tasks and analysis
Desired Skills and Experience:
Advanced degree in Accounting / Economics
Minimum of +3 years working experience in accounting
Experience within the biotech or pharma industry is a plus
Analytical and critical mind, structured and efficient
Experience in working with an ERP system, experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus
