Mechanic Diesel and Trailer )

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: Day shift 7am to 3:30pm OR 8am to 4:30pm

Salary: Up to $35/hr depending on experience

Diesel and Trailer Mechanic Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and complete repairs

Produce accurate and itemized work orders on the work that was completed

Utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment to accurately pinpoint truck issues

Conduct truck inspections and alert the Service manager to issues that will prevent their trucks from passing inspection

Perform other maintenance duties as requested

Fleet Mechanic Education / Qualifications

High school diploma/GED required – vocational school preferred

Valid Driver License

Knowledge of heavy-duty equipment – front end loaders, forklifts & skid steers

Must have mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Basic hydraulic knowledge also a plus

Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted

Effective written and oral communication skills

Able to work well with minimal supervision – this position reports directly to the fleet maintenance supervisor

Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures

Able to work all shifts and overtime if necessary

1 year plus experience performing repairs and services on Diesel and Heavy Equipment

5-7 years of experience a plus

Must have own set of tools

Ability to work occasional weekends as needed
