Job Summary:

The Senior Network Access Analyst will be responsible for performing advanced data analysis necessary to detect, identify, monitor, and investigate potential anomalies related to activity on electronic prescribing and other health information exchange platforms and products used by participants in the Surescripts Network Alliance. This position is part of the Network Access function in the Legal, Compliance, & Government Affairs Department, and will be hands-on, requiring strong skills in advanced analytical tools for big data and enterprises, statistical modeling, process improvement, and investigative platforms.

Responsibilities:

Perform large-scale data analysis of transaction records to correlate anomalous relationships between and among data sets - determine suitability for use, verify, and validate models.

Develop and refine metrics and algorithms necessary to detect and identify potential anomalous transactions as they traverse the network.

Partner and communicate data requirements, use cases, and patterns that characterizes statistical norms and anomalies across multiple teams within Surescripts (e.g. product managers), key customers, and external agencies.

Build tools to automate data collection that searches, normalizes, and visualizes large data sets allowing decisions to be made in a quantifiable manner.

Optimize anomaly detection and automation parameters by defining/modifying requirements and configurations within our case management platform, Security Orchestration and Response (SOAR), shared between Network Access and Security teams.

Provide recommendations to improve the detection, identification, monitoring, investigation, and reporting of anomalous transactions; if needed, create new, experimental frameworks to test hypothesis

Create data reports and visualizations to provide clients and internal teams with visibility into Network Access Team’s ability to monitor network activity, identify and investigate potential anomalies, and help remediate issues.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience in data analytics / data science.

3+ years of experience with “big data” technologies, databases, and processing – Hadoop, Oracle, and Apache Spark preferred.

2+ years of experience with machine learning and AI.

2+ years of experience translating data into actionable information.

Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong mathematical and numeracy skills

Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

Health care industry and/or Medicare/Medicaid/Pharmacy/Behavioral Health/Pharmacy Benefit Management knowledge preferred.

Knowledge of BI development tools such as Tableau

Advanced Excel experience desired

Familiarity with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare-related practices, standards, and regulations

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $115,200 - $140,800 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
