Provide counselling support services to clients in our clinic at the Immigration Detention Centre clinic in Villawood, NSW.
The Role
The counsellor will provide counselling services in the Immigration Detention Facility through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventions. Key responsibilities:
Facilitate group sessions on a diverse range of mental health topics
Provide health promotion education and activities
Provide assessment, counselling and casework services including support and referral services
Help to organise excursions or other activities of a pro-active nature that will help with the well-being of the population
Ensure that documentation is accurate, precise and concise

Requirements
Full working rights in Australia
Relevant qualifications and or experience in counselling, social welfare, education or social sciences
3 years proven experience in the delivery of counselling services, case management and case coordination in mental health setting
Experience working in AoD areas or with individuals with AoD issues highly desirable
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid Certificate
Ability to use Electronic Medical Records systems, e-mail, excel and MS word
