Tour and Travel Guide

The Klondike Experience has been in operation in Dawson City, Yukon since 2012 offering unique tourism experiences for groups of all ages from around the world. We specialize in historical and sightseeing tours, hiking tours, and various special interest tours. We are seeking a motivated and experienced tour guide and driver to operate our large buses, provide transportation and programming for tour groups and deliver high quality travel experiences for our clients.

Role Description:

— Maintain the safe operation of class 2 commercial vehicles over short and long distances

— Conduct narrated tours of the Dawson City area. Our company will provide information and training, but it is also expected that you make a personal effort to learn as much as possible about the area before starting your position. Areas of study should specifically include Gold Rush History, local geography, and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture.

— Experienced guiding in extreme weather conditions/winter tours

— Help around the office and yard as necessary, including light duty cleaning

Minimum job requirements:

Valid Wilderness first aid (or higher level) certificate

Valid class 2 drivers license with air brakes endorsement and clean drivers abstract

Strong oral English skills and an outgoing personality

Strong oral skills in at least two other languages (preferred - an asset but not required)

Strong knowledge of local history and culture in the Klondike region is an asset
