Job Summary

Joining our operations team means that you will be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering outstanding service to our data centre customers. Responsibilities

Assist with the development of engineering design standards, policies and procedures

Effectively interact with other internal and external teams, including the design engineering, site engineering, onsite support vendors, consultants on projects, policies and procedures

Be Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Electrical systems and train others inside and outside of the group

Assure adherence to developed standards and policy through review of documentation, participation in commissioning activities, design summits and datacenter physicals

Understanding of Electrical drawings and interpret single line diagrams in simple terms for wider teams

Perform regular analysis/audit of electrical systems design and /or maintenance practices to maximize availability and reduce single point of failure

Perform HV switching, fault finding, documentation and safety compliance

Responsible for LV & HV Generator operation and troubleshooting.

Perform Thermal imaging and report any issues with a plan to resolve

Must be able to review Work permits, Risk assessment and Method Statements related to Electrical works. Identify correlation between electrical works and its impact on customer environment

Work with design and construction teams, specialist contractors to complete any future deployments

Generate scripts for maintenance and engineering drills

Plan, prepare and perform electrical switching and isolations to facilitate break/fix repairs and scheduled equipment maintenance through following approved operational site specific procedures as directed

Strong understanding and experience of the electrical systems used in a datacenter environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS Systems, Battery Banks, ATS/STS Units

Qualifications

Qualification in Electrical Engineering

Previous data centre / critical environment experience

Broad knowledge of critical infrastructure i.e. UPS, generator, BMS, EMS, life safety systems

Self-motivation and flexibility

Willingness to be available to support on-site technicians out of hours, if required

Good verbal and written communication skills are a must

Desired

Fully qualified electrical apprenticeship

Basic understanding of Maximo, Power BI, MS-Office (Word/Excel) or similar tools
