COMPETENCIES:
Work experience in customer service and logistics
3 years minimum experience in logistics
Knowledge of aluminum rolling mill process a plus
Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel), Microsoft 365 preferred
Must possess high sense of urgency
Ability to plan in detail & coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers
Must possess strong problem solving skills
Must be able to multitask & prioritize work appropriately
Primary Responsibilities:
Route inbound/outbound freight for customers and vendors through FTL or LTL service providers.
Maintain working relationships with carriers to ensure best possible service, cost and delivery.
Prepare documents & update files associated to shipments:
Pack Lists
Bill of Ladings
Customs paperwork, as needed, per USMCA
Rate confirmations for the carriers
Finished Goods/Shipment updates to customers
Shift notes
Invoicing Documents
Update the Shipping Message Board
Update DP Steps
RMA's
Freight Claims processed per US DOT Regulations
Work closely with Customer Service and Production with updates on customer shipments.
Attend production meetings & communicate with the team on shipping requirements.
Work with accounting for any freight invoice discrepancies.
Digitize all paperwork as required.
Maintain processes and procedures as defined per ISO.
Assist with various administrative office duties.
