Overview of The Role

Reporting to the IT Director Infrastructure Management & Innovation, the IT Specialist, Finance & License Management will facilitate managing I&S financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and manage global licenses.

The IT Specialist will assist in forecasts, budgeting, and financial analysis for technology spending for software, hardware, Software as a Service (SaaS) and IT Contract Services. The candidate will put in place procedures and produce reporting to drive visibility and optimization of license costs globally.

As an IT Specialist, your role will be to act as a link between the Finance business and technical teams to budget and forecast. The candidate should have a passion for financial data and analysis combined with an ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders globally.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

Manage I&S planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities (including Capex and Opex)

Develop and lead financial, dashboards and management reporting (e.g., monitor actuals)

Analyze financial reporting and investigate variances .

Establish and maintain a model and process for cost chargeback / show back and produce reporting for IT and business stakeholders.

Manage global licenses, including putting in place license management processes, monitoring and tracking licenses, managing the growth of licenses, and optimizing license costs.

Identify cost optimization opportunities and recommendations.

Act as the primary point of contact for interactions with Finance.

Provide advice and conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and planning (e.g., support business cases, financial modelling of scenarios, etc.).

Support with internal audits when required.

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, related quantitative field, or equivalent experience

Strong quantitative analysis and modelling skills

3 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

3 years’ experience managing IT license costs with Microsoft license management preferred.

Knowledge and experience with accounting and finance principles, processes, and tools including managing capital and operating budgets and forecasts.

Problem solving and critical thinking ability.

Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence change.

Experience with Microsoft PowerBI

Working understanding of IT, infrastructure operations, best practices and standards (e.g., ITIL)

As part of their duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America.
