Senior BI Developer

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Senior BI Developer to strengthen the capabilities of our Financial Data & Analytics Competency Center. Your team members consist of BI developers and experts in the fields of Data Warehousing and Process Automation and you will be working with all Wärtsilä Finance organizations to deliver world class Financial data related BI solutions with Power BI and Qlik.

Preferred locations for this position are: Helsinki, Turku or Vaasa, Finland

We also offer the possibility of hybrid remote work.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior BI Developer you and your colleagues are responsible of development, maintenance and end user support for Wärtsilä's global Finance & Control BI applications and you work together with your team members to ensure that the underlying data pipeline is optimal and provides correct results on reporting side.

In your day-to-day work you will:

Develop and maintain reports and analytics solutions with Qlik and Power BI together with your team

Collaborate with various Wärtsilä Finance departments to help them solve their business problems with reporting tools

Work together with your colleagues with BI related process and architecture development and help building and implementing standardized best practices and Wärtsilä Way of working for BI development.

As part of your regular schedule you will also spend some time training and supporting our internal BI users and our citizen developer network to improve our BI development capabilities.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and recommend new approaches to improve our internal development processes.

Requirements for the position:

MSc / BSc in a relevant field (Economics, Financial Accounting, Computer Science or equivalent)

5+ years of experience developing complex applications with QlikView, Qlik Sense and Power BI

Good communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken

Pro-active, analytical, systematic, and organised way of working

Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving capabilities

To be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

You're able to work independently and have the needed project management skills for efficient development of complex BI applications

Background as a BI consultant or Internal BI Developer is seen as an advantage

Experienced working with SAP data

Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Good understanding of ETL/ELT flows, scheduling, Data Warehousing etc. Related areas
