Position: Certified Medical Assistant

Duration: Permanent

Location: Murrell’s Inlet / Georgetown / Myrtle Beach (100% on site)

Salary: $42k base

Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, required.

• Minimum of five (5) years in a physician office setting, preferred.

• American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

License/Certification:

Certification from nationally recognized agency, required. Accepted agencies and certifications include:

1. National Health career Association – Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA)

2. American Medical Technologists – Medical Assistant (RMA)

3. National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

4. American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Skills:

• Computer knowledge, required.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task, required.

• Phlebotomy skills and experience, preferred.

• Physical Requirements: Light Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

DUTIES

• Responsible for working as part of the clinical team, following leadership orders for care of patients and related medical and clerical support functions. These support functions will vary but will include accompanying patients to exam rooms, preparing patients for exams, performing and documenting vital signs, assisting with procedures, preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorization, performing EKGs, using CPR skills when required, drawing blood, and providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication, and management of disease, home treatments, and special diets.

• Other duties may include retrieval of lab and x-ray reports, calling in prescriptions, telephone triage, obtaining referrals and authorizations, completing medical forms and other duties as assigned.

• Responsible for ordering medical and office supplies, stocking exam rooms, cleaning rooms, cleaning instruments, disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards, and performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times, and adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
