We at Holycode are currently looking for a Senior DevOps/System Administrator with strong skills and proven experience, who is ready to dive into our Plenigo team, for a full-time engagement, here in our Belgrade office.

Plenigo is a software-as-a-service company that provides its customers with software functions in a cloud, operates and continuously develops them. Their customers are looking for a solution to manage and expand their subscriber base. In this context, Plenigo primarily addresses publishing houses and media companies. Plenigo offers them a unique range of functions for a contemporary buying experience for their target groups.

Plenigo is searching for a Senior DevOps/System Administrator with a strong background in managing and automating infrastructure, with a focus on Go/Java-based services, Consul, PostgreSQL, HAProxy, Redis, and high-availability systems. This team member will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of Plenigo’s environments, implementing best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and optimizing deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management: Manage and automate infrastructure setup, deployment, and scaling of services, with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery.

Server Management: Oversee server configurations, maintenance, security updates, and performance tuning.

Go/Java Services: Build, deploy, and maintain microservices written in Go and Java. Optimize application performance and resource usage.

Consul: Configure and manage service discovery, configuration management, and health checks using Consul.

Database Administration: Administer PostgreSQL databases, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, and scaling.

Load Balancing: Set up and maintain HAProxy for load balancing to ensure high availability and optimized traffic distribution.

Caching: Implement and manage Redis for caching strategies to improve system performance.

CI/CD Pipeline: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab to automate deployments, testing, and scaling processes.

Monitoring and Observability: Implement robust monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana to ensure the health and performance of the infrastructure.

Troubleshooting: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise in the infrastructure or application layers.

Security: Apply security best practices to protect data and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of new features and improvements.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.

Requirements and skills:

7+ years in a DevOps or System Administrator role, with a focus on high availability and scalable systems.

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and experience with Go and Java.

Hands-on experience with Consul or similar tools (e.g., etcd, Zookeeper).

Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including experience with replication, clustering, and performance tuning.

Expertise with HAProxy setup and configuration for fault tolerance and traffic distribution.

Proficiency with Redis for in-memory data storage and caching.

Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, and other CI/CD tools.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.

Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.

Strong experience in managing and maintaining Linux/Unix servers.

Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.

Proficient in both written and spoken English.

Nice to have: Docker for container orchestration.

Nice to have: Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and VPNs.

Nice to have: Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps.
