Duties

This position is located under the Office of Science and Technology (OST), Information Technology Systems Managment Division (ITSMD), Infrastructure Service Branch in Location Negotiable After Selection, United States.

The primary purpose of this position is to support an ATF that is ready with right information, services, and capabilities for the right people at the right time of safeguard America's communities from violent crime, enabled by excellent people, process, and technology. The ITSMD combines the Operations, Performance Management, Data & Voice and Wireless Communications services to create and maintain world class service in a dynamic Information Technology environment for Internet, voice and data network.

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Chief, Infrastructure Services Branch), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include:

Oversees the daily duties of branch staff personnel, to include employee, trainees/interns and contractors. Responsible for assigning and ensuring the execution and completion of work tasks, approves leave, determines training needs, makes recommendations & provides guidance and feedback, recommends and may approve awards and is responsible for full performance management development (initial, mid-year, and annual performance appraisals and disciplinary actions) of assigned employees.

Reports the progress of ongoing and specialized work tasks and projects to the Deputy Division Chief and ensures the timely and quality completion of regular and reoccurring duties.

Manages, coordinates and directs programmatic functions relative to the practices, systems, techniques and principles of information technology (IT) and is responsible for developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and ensures software and systems quality and functionality

Manages and/or performs configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and management of cloud and network systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and or video formats.

Serves as the day-to-day liaison between the business units and service providers for the domain and provides input to contract expectations through dentification, proposal, evaluations and contract-development processes. Participates in the government acquisition process, working with the business areas to set domain priorities by identifying competing needs and requirements, resolving issues, coordinating the collection of performance metrics, providing metrics to the Sourcing Office and serving as first level problem solver.

To qualify for 14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience include:

Performs configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and management of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and or video formats.

Demonstrated experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) infrastructure and service components, troubleshooting and diagnosing Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), Data Center and Cloud services issues.

Demonstrated experience in managing the operational activities of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN), data, voice, video and cloud services, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and security.
