Summary

This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - West Point - Internal Controls Division. As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for final determinations on new proposed/or revised stock identifications entering the Federal Supply System. The incumbent regulates and maintains the flow of supplies through the use of an integrated automated supply inventory control\purchasing system (SICPS).

Duties

As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will:

Review automated supply system data on a regular basis. Validate and, if necessary, revises the stock levels of material in order to meet current and future demands.

Perform intensified management control with respect to critical material, items required for special programs and items assigned with a zero safety level.

Review and analyze supply data to determine and initiate the most economic procurement of material, indicating the types of items, quantities and the sources.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-9, you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service that is directly related to the position, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Specialized experience is defined as:

- Experience in the accountability of supply inventory management in a manufacturing environment; AND

- Experience using catalog system or database for supply cataloging.

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR

You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
