Geologics is seeking a talented Production Control Planner II in Sterling Heights, MI to organize, communicate, and track to completion of prototyping projects where we make concepts tangible. Be challenged by creating something new and developing solutions by coordinating all released engineering technical data into usable procurement and prototype fabrication & assembly requirements.

Position: Production Control Planner II

Type: W-2, Contract to Hire Only No C2C, No 1999 and No 3rd parties

Location: Onsite in Sterling Heights, MI

Pay: $34.00 - $41.60 per hour with limited benefits

Flexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)

Due to the nature of work performed in the facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Minimum Requirements:

US Citizenship

Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline and/or 3-5 years' experience working in a Prototype/Production Control / Planning or Materials group in a prototyping or manufacturing environment (equivalent experience will be considered)

Experience with material planning.

Experience with the following systems: Windchill ORACLE MRP or ERP systems

Excel, Power Point and Word experience required.

Familiarity with Oracle business system Awareness and understanding of Bills of Material

Strong communication, analysis, and math skills a plus.

Data analysis skills using Excel or equivalent is required.

Six Sigma / Lean Concepts

Ability to perform accurate data entry skills.

Highly organized and able to multitask.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems.

Responsibilities

We are hiring a Prototype Planner to organize, communicate, and track to completion of prototyping projects where we make concepts tangible. Seeking a Prototype Planner to organize the key information necessary for prototype development efforts that will take place at one of our 3 prototyping centers. If you enjoy the challenge of creating something new and developing solutions by coordinating all released engineering technical data into usable procurement and prototype fabrication & assembly requirements, then this role may be for you.

Create and maintain a prototype plan based on forecast, inventory levels, safety stock levels, and project specific levels while minimizing cost.

Creates and maintains the Bill of Materials from release drawings and requests, actively participates decision points during a prototyping effort, and works with management to identify and mitigate risks throughout project execution.

Performs diversified duties involving the coordination, issuance and control of materials for he assigned project(s) and Prototype Network.

Analyzes Oracle reports/output recommendations and releases factory orders to manufacturing and assembly areas.

Evaluates Oracle reports/output recommendations and initiates appropriate actions related to cancellation, reschedule or modification to 'released' jobs in Fabrication & Assembly.

Works with Supply Chain to expedite 'purchased' material components shortages with the appropriate buyer.

Participates in daily scheduled factory order status meetings to achieve 100% on time performance where possible.

Interfaces closely with Build Project Lead/Prototype integration engineers to evaluate customer requirements and approve the release of materials in support of special projects and prototype builds.

Monitors and adjusts as necessary, build schedules to maintain valid due dates on all orders.

Releases sufficient work to meet department earned hours' targets.

Informs immediate supervisor of potential voids and assists in remedial actions to make adjustments.

Participates as a team member on task forces to reduce costs, inventory levels and improve on-time delivery of products.

Coordinate with Engineering on the release of drawings and reviews for manufacturability of parts and material requirements.

Serve as point of contact and subject matter expert for coordination of all released engineering data and responsible for the translation of this data into usable procurement and manufacturing requirements.

Prioritize work and coordinate with Engineering Program Managers, Team Leads, Quality, and Certification groups to achieve program efficiencies, meet established deadlines, and minimize operational impacts.

Coordinate with the broader Prototype Network team to analyze prototyping schedules and capacity requirements.

Provide timely status and expedite work around plans to preserve schedule.

Identify relevant trends and improvement opportunities, then develop and coordinate corrective actions.

Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines.
