The role – Job description

Primary-focused role delivering STEAM to Years 3 and above with the potential to deliver Computing and/or ICT in Secondary. This role would suit a background in Computing or ICT, Design and Technology or Science, or someone with a strong passion for technology who is keen to grow in the role. It is open to Secondary-trained teachers willing to adapt to teaching Primary age groups.

Our cutting-edge STEAM+ curriculum is not just a part of the school; it is the heart of our educational approach. As it continues to grow from strength to strength, this is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the STEAM+ curriculum. You will be provided with a purpose-built maker space containing robotics, 3D printing technology, VR and AR, and dedicated CPD to support you in integrating across the curriculum. Star Mirdif has embedded STEAM+ from Year 3 to Year 9, with a focus on the UN SDGs and solving global and cosmic problems. Your role is crucial in our commitment to STEAM+ education.

As part of this Primary-focused role, there are opportunities to teach STEAM+, ICT and/or Computing to year groups in the Secondary phase alongside Primary year groups.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Education: Relevant teaching qualification: minimum of a BEd or BA/BSc + PGCE/QTS

Experience:

2 years of teaching experience in a British school either internationally or in the UK

Ability to teach across all three sciences at KS3 with specialism in Computer Science.

Competencies:

Excellent working knowledge of the national curriculum for England and the latest UK practice

Excellent IT skills, communication skills, and command of the English language, in spoken and written form

A collaborative team-player with excellent personal skills

Classroom and behavior management
