Overview
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Residential Projects at our Nungambakkam location plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of residential development projects. The AGM will be responsible for leading project teams, ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of projects, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role is pivotal for maintaining strong client relationships and upholding the company's reputation for excellence in the residential construction sector.
Key responsibilities
Lead and manage the residential project development from inception to completion
Oversee project planning, scheduling, and implementation
Supervise and guide project teams in effectively executing their duties
Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Manage project budgets and financial aspects, including cost estimation and control
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project progression
Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the construction process
Review and approve project designs, specifications, and deliverables
Facilitate communication and collaboration between various project stakeholders
Monitor and report on project progress, performance, and milestones
Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in project deliverables
Participate in client meetings, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction
Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a positive and professional work environment
Contribute to the development and improvement of project management processes and procedures
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in residential construction
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Proven experience (8+ years) in managing residential construction projects, preferably in a leadership role
Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction practices
Excellent financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost control
Proficient in construction software and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera)
Outstanding leadership and team management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for client interactions and team collaboration
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet project deadlines
Sound decision-making and problem-solving capabilities, especially under pressure
Certification in project management (PMP) is a plus
Experience in residential real estate development is highly advantageous
Strong commitment to upholding quality, safety, and ethical standards in all projects
Availability for immediate joining and flexibility to work extended hours as required
Valid professional certifications and licenses as required by local construction authorities
Candidates should have 20 years of experience in residential projects.
