Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate (MSD), Logistics, located in Washington, D.C.

Duties

This position will allow you to translates design, engineering, and sustainment data into specialized logistics support concepts and determines subsequent requirements, mission, or program goals. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security functions by analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures.

This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

In this Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist position, you will provide logistics and sustainment oversight and guidance throughout the agency. Typical work assignments include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of current USBP logistics support operations and future requirements

Preparing and assisting in the development of reports for the budget execution review, and cost performance reports

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

Developing logistics plans and policies while enforcing operations are completed

Formulating and managing a branch operating budget

Preparing reports for the budget execution review, year-end reports, cost and performance reports, control of funds and statements of

review and analysis for all readiness and logistics planning activities

Delegating personnel management for subordinates' responsibilities

Ensuring mobility and logistics planning, training and execution are accomplished in accordance with policies and

You must:

Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and

Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/01/2024.
