PSE's Generation & Natural Gas Storage team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open ICE Tech I position!

Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

Job Summary

Safety is the number one priority for Puget Sound Energy. This position requires participation in safety and tailgate meetings, performing safety inspections, identification and reporting of safety incidents and unsafe conditions, obtaining, and maintaining required licenses and certifications and participation in emergency response drills.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for the role will be invited to complete the ICE Pre-Qualifications test which requires a minimum passing score of 70%.

Job Responsibilities

Install, inspect, configure, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of instrumentation, control, electronic and electrical system equipment typically at a specific power generating facility.

Perform all tests necessary to prove operation of the same.

Maintain plant control system records and data.

This is a highly technical position, which requires continuing education and skill development to meet changing needs.

Perform similar and incidental duties as required.

This position responds to various sites, addresses plant emergencies and contains some irregular work schedules and overtime hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicant must, at a minimum, be a Journey Worker with Combustion Turbine and/or Hydro experience or its equivalent and be proficient in using the tools and equipment including computer hardware and software associated with the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic controls systems as related to Generation work.

Must have the working knowledge of process and machinery instrumentation, controls, electrical and electronic fundamentals, as pertains to power generation systems.

Must have organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Company personnel, service providers, contractors, other utilities, state, and federal agencies and public when applicable. Must attend training sessions and successfully complete progressive training as required by the LMTC and furnished by the Company and others.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a First Aid, CPR and AED Certificate or obtain each within the probationary period. Training will be furnished and scheduled by the company.

Employee must have a working knowledge and comply with all Company standards, policies, practices, procedures and state and federal regulations as they pertain to the job.

Additional Information

The duties and responsibilities are performed in both indoor and outdoor environments primarily in an industrial setting.

The position involves sitting, standing, walking, moderate to heavy lifting, moderate carrying, bending, and working in confined spaces, use of hazardous chemicals, reaching, kneeling, twisting, balancing, and climbing, operation of light equipment, tools and machinery and operation of heavy equipment and machinery.

Performance of the position requires working in varied outdoor environments such as all weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous conditions and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces.

The period of time for all physical tasks varies based on specific work being accomplished.

The use of protective clothing and safety devices is required.

May require driving of automobiles/vans/trucks.
