Pay

:

HK$158,552 to HK$182,669 [HGPS Point 45 to 49] per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Job

The post holder will be deployed to work in Infection Control Branch (ICB), Centre for Health Protection (CHP) with main duties as follows:

1. Provide specialist advice on infection control and communicable disease management.

2. Develop guidelines and training programmes on infection control in healthcare and community settings.

3. Lead a team of doctors and nurses to develop and conduct surveillance and quality improvement programmes related to infection control in healthcare and community settings.

4. Provide infection control advices for outbreak investigation in healthcare and community settings.

5. Plan, conduct and evaluate health promotion activities for prevention and control of communicable diseases.

Requirements

1. Registered medical practitioner under the Medical Registration Ordinance; and

2. Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine; and

3. Registered in the Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

Preferred Attributes/Exposure

1. Staff members are expected to meet the 4 core competencies set for the Associate Consultant post. They are:

i. Functional competency

ii. Personal competency

iii. People and team competency

iv. Organization effectiveness

2. Expertise in infection control and clinical infections in the context of public health.

3. At least 1 year’s experience / training in public health related field.

4. Contribution to professional development including research, teaching and training.

2. Candidates who have not acquired the requirements under 2 and 3 but who have passed the exit examination and completed the necessary specialist training requirements before the application deadline may apply. If found suitable for appointment, they may be appointed to the post subject to their production of the required qualifications i.e. FHKAM and specialist registration within 12 months after appointment to the post.
