About the opportunity BARC is looking for skilled animal handlers to join our team of professional animal lovers!

We are looking for people who are familiar with pound and shelter animal management practices.

We are looking for people to work mainly on weekends and public holidays.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Casual Animal Attendant in our Animal Rehoming Centre.

An ideal candidate will ensure that a high standard of animal housing presentation and animal welfare are maintained within our Animal Rehoming Centre.

This role focuses on enhancing our image as a customer service provider and ensuring that animals in our care are treated humanely in accordance with accepted standards, codes, Acts and regulations.

Qualifications and experience Essential: Relevant qualifications in an appropriate field Significant experience in handling companion animals Current class C driver’s licence.

Desirable: Qualified microchip implanter Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations Demonstrated knowledge of animal care and welfare issues Computer literate in basic office applications and the ability to quickly learn corporate applications Developed verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated commitment to customer service Ability to work within a team environment Ability to drive manual vehicle Experience in handling livestock.

Remuneration and benefits An hourly rate applies at $29.2716 (Grade 3 entry level) plus 25% casual loading and penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
