Position Summary

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill invites applications for three full-time (9 mos.) fixed-term Teaching Assistant Professors with three-year contracts which are renewable. Teaching faculty in the Department typically teach three courses per semester for a total of six courses each academic year, along with service/administrative responsibilities. Additionally, this position offers excellent career advancement opportunities, including promotion to Teaching Associate Professor and Teaching (Full) Professor. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

We are seeking instructors with a specialty in neuroscience and demonstrated excellence in undergraduate education. We are particularly interested in individuals who are qualified to teach in the following areas: cellular and molecular neuroscience courses including introduction to neuroscience, a neuroscience laboratory course based undergraduate research experience ( CURE ) in the applicant’s area of expertise, and other key courses in the UNC neuroscience curriculum such as Learning and Sensation & Perception. This position would build upon the existing strengths in teaching and research of our faculty and highlight the technologically-sophisticated nature of the field of neuroscience.
