Veterinary Behavior Assistant

About us:

Hickory Veterinary Hospital is a well-established veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for pets and their owners. Our full-time behavior department is so busy that we are looking to add an additional behavioral assistant to the team!

Key Responsibilities:

· During appointments, will help take notes, monitor patient's behavior and help engage each patient. Many times, these are fearful animals that patience and monitoring the patient's behavior is key to success.

· Calling clients to schedule first time visits and/or rechecks as needed.

· Administration duties like call backs to clients, obtaining and reading medical records for information, sending clients information and calling in prescriptions for patients as directed by the doctor.

· Learning the fear free way to manage fearful patients and helping navigate these situations with owners.

Qualifications:

· Nursing or animal experience ideal.

· A strong drive to learn and thrive in the behavioral animal world.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to handle emotional and stressful situations with compassion and professionalism.

· Proficiency in using veterinary practice management software.
