Responsibilities

The Cyber Security Engineer oversees the implementation of DoDD 8530.1, DoDD 8500.2, DoDI 8510.1, DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework, and other applicable NIST and CNSS IA directives, instructions, guidelines to include interfacing with the MDA Information Assurance management and case managers. Bachelor or Higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar relevant field.

What you will do:

Oversees the implementation of DoDD 8530.1, DoDD 8500.2, DoDI 8510.1, DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework, and other applicable NIST and CNSS IA directives, instructions, guidelines to include interfacing with the MDA Information Assurance management and case managers.

Capability to design, develop, and implement solutions that meet network and system security requirements and perform vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems, networks and applications.

Leads and manages the implementation of required network security to properly safeguard all computer systems, network, and data in accordance with current policies and regulations.

Assesses the security risks of IT systems, network, and software applications and document them in formal security and risk assessments and supporting artifacts associated with the MDA Designated Accrediting Authority and Certification Authority process. Drives cyber strategy and provides insight into all policy and technical decisions.

Experience in providing Communications Security (COMSEC) Custodial Experience in testing to validate established security requirements, recommending additional security requirements and safeguards, supporting the formal testing required by government accrediting authorities, and preparing System Security Plans. IA certification IAW DoD Instruction 8570.01M required.

Qualifications

HS 16+ years of experience, Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, computer science, or system engineering and 12+ years of experience, 10+ years with MS/MA, 7+ years with Ph.D.

Required:

The candidate must have a strong understanding of data Center operations, and applications used to store, retrieve and secure MDA sensitive data.

Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset

Be a US citizen

Be able to work from the customer facility on a regular basis unless customer approved to work outside the local area

Have a minimum of 7+ years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above

Other Qualifications:

An additional plus is experience with enterprise IT solutions, cloud migration, DevSecOps, agile software development and application design, integration, testing and deployment.

Security Requirements:

Ability to obtain Interim Secret Clearance. Active Secret Clearance preferred.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
