Minimum requirements for the role:

A minimum matric is essential for this role.

A tertiary qualification in project management, planning and procurement is preferred but not essential for the role.

Previous experience having worked within a senior procurement management role managing and procuring stock is essential.

Previous experience having worked within the corporate clothing manufacturing or fashion, or related markets is preferred.

Previous cost accounting knowledge and experience is preferred.

Previous garment construction knowledge and experience as well as garment manufacturing knowledge and experience is preferred.

The successful candidate must have stock control management and reporting knowledge.

Must have strong negotiation skills with previous experience having led negotiations.

Previous experience working on SAP is preferable but not essential.

Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Strategically negotiate, drive and manage the procurement of products from local and international suppliers as well as manage and motivate a team to achieve procurement objectives.

Managing supplier relationships, performance and the management thereof ensuring that optimal supplier performance is achieved.

Managing and overseeing inventory management ensuring that raw materials stock on hand are always sufficient to cover production deadlines.

Overseeing garment manufacturing improvement and departments continuous development management and costing.

Managing and reporting stock obsolescence and inventory reporting and analyses regarding stock on hand.

Managing supplier contracts communicating any concerns or developments with suppliers.

Overseeing stock costings sign off, implementation and development.

Hindsight reporting on supplier performance, OTIF, quality and corrective measures.

Ensuring suppliers understand workwear standards, processes and terms.

Managing and overseeing a team of subordinates to ensure they achieve the company KPIs set.

Managing production by understanding customer deadlines underway.

Ensuring that the customer requirements are understood from a purchasing perspective and that a purchasing / buying plan is received from the relevant key account managers.

Managing the purchase of raw materials and trims.

Communicating regularly with suppliers and quality assurance manager to ensure production process is proceeding smoothly and on time.

Maintaining knowledge of inbound stock and warehouse capacity to receive stock.

Identifying and managing commercial, contractual, operational, financial (price and cost savings), reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impact on category objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation.

Participating in developing and leading the implementation of category management plans to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.

Leading and managing cross-functional working groups to achieve high-level of performance, integration and consistency in procurement across the category.

Developing and implementing procurement strategies across the business.
