Our work depends on Test Engineer joining our team to assist the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) in managing its appeals workloads.

As a Test Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. You will deliver simple solutions to complex problems. You’ll tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients.

HOW A TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Perform manual and automated testing, including regression testing, functional testing, and performance testing.

Participate in test automation efforts to improve testing efficiency.

Develop testing procedures by defining quality metrics and test strategies.

Establish the expected standards for the quality assurance tests and clearly communicate those standards to the team.

Set milestones and comes up with criteria to track timely progress.

Effectively communicate the daily status – risks / issues / dependencies, track progress.

Provide accurate estimates for QA efforts including test case design/scripting, test data management, and test execution.

Follow existing agile QA best practices as well as CMMI standards.

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

Communicate test results to project stakeholders.

Successfully validate data, and data mapping by designing and executing SQL queries for retrieving data.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and design comprehensive test scenarios.

Experience testing APIs using Postman or other similar testing tools.

Identify, document, and track software defects and issues using Jira, working closely with developers to resolve them.

Participate in requirements review sessions to ensure clear understanding of the process flows.

Support users through training, system demos, help desk problem resolution as well as provide one-on-one technical assistance.

Manage expectations and address concerns proactively.

Stay current with industry best practices and emerging testing methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

5 years’ experience as a Test Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer in a software development environment.

Bachelor of Science.

Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray).

Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Understanding of data integrity, data privacy, and compliance.

Expertise with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience testing web applications and mobile applications.

Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Previous experience in government projects or the healthcare industry.

Security testing experience.

ISTQB or similar certification.

SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:

Ability to pass HHS and company background check to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
