Geost seeks a highly capable Export Control Technical Manager to provide guidance, direction, and oversight of adherence to federal export control regulations and promote a culture of compliance throughout Geost. The ideal candidate will possess export control experience to include jurisdiction and classification as well implementing and executing export compliance programs for space and airborne systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Research, monitor, maintain, and brief policy requirements related to export control and compliance, in accordance with local regulations, government policies, and international laws.
Perform oversight of export transactions, evaluations of potential export violations, program audits, and compliance checks.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including record-keeping, reporting, and exemptions.
Conduct export control reviews and restricted party screenings.
Ensure staff are informed about export controls and the resources available to enable compliance.
Prohibit access by unlicensed foreign nationals to any controlled technology or controlled technical data that does not qualify for an exclusion to export control regulations.
Identify the export classification of hardware, materials, software, and technology subject to export control regulations, prepare and submit export licenses, advisory opinions, and commodity jurisdiction requests.
Support the empowered official and represent Geost in official export control matters.
Support on-site work, as needed.
Support travel or off-site work, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred.
Five or more years of experience with regulatory export compliance, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.
Experience performing export classification and export license determinations and analyzing technical parameters of technology.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Analytical skills, good judgement, and interpersonal skills in complex situations to apply effective problem-solving techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience developing export classification and jurisdiction self-assessments, securing export licenses, and ensuring export compliance programs specifically for airborne, space, and ground sensor systems
Knowledge on recent or pending policy changes or updates related to export control and compliance such as impacts and implications of AUKUS.
Current SSBI.
