Job Summary

Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records.

• 30 bed General Surgical unit

• Free Charge RN and 3 PCAs on each shift, Mobility Tech Mon-Fri during the day.

• Unit Secretary availability 7 days a week

• Ortho Nurse Navigator and Bariatric Nurse Navigator and Women’s navigator for women’s surgery.

• Wound Care RN

• 5-6 :1 ratio on days and nights (Discharge RN available on 6 days)

• Self draw unit, PCA/PCTs trained to do blood draws and blood cultures and EKGs

• 24/7 Hospitalists available

• Vital signs will be scan automatically.

• Self schedule, only work every 3rd weekend

• BSN Required due to Magnet Status or current enrollment.

• Acute care Med/Surg experience preferred especially with post surgical Colorectal, Urology and Ortho patient population

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing

Certified in Basic Life Support

Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

RN I <1 year

RN II = 1-3 years

RN III = 3-10 years

RN IV = 10+ years
