Summary

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for directly supporting the Deputy Director to provide a full range of supervisory and management responsibilities over a diverse team of analysts covering a broad range of DoD-wide capability analysis.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM ANALYST (INTEROPERABILITY) at the GS-0343-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:

Performs Division Chief supervisory and managerial functions to guide, analyze and assess tasks to sustain, synchronize and modernize the Joint C2 portfolio and future joint and multi-national C2 capabilities.

Oversees assessment and evaluation efforts to facilitate and integrate C2 initiatives.

Assigns work to individual positions to ensure full coverage of all specialties and to provide development and cross training.

Reviews work and is held technically accountable for actions taken and advice provided.

Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

Represents the organization on working groups, steering groups, or other meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.

May chair such groups or meetings when the meeting is in the incumbent's area of assignment.

Hosts meetings with JS/DoD/interagency and multi-national representatives to discuss/resolve concepts and other issues of common interest.

In accordance with the provisions of OGE SF 450, the incumbent of this position is required to submit initial and annual confidential statements of affiliations and financial interests.

Incumbent without previous JS experience must also attend the JS training course for new employees.

Incumbent without previous JS experience must also attend the JS training course for weekends, and holidays, and will be compensated within the scope/guidelines of government civilian employment.

Employee is required to obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive/Top Secret Security Clearance.

Drug Testing Designated Position: Yes

Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and will be compensated within the scope/guidelines of government civilian employment.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:

Supervising the analysis, sustainment and modernization of the Joint C2 family of programs portfolio to include joint fires, multi-national C2 and info sharing, data strategies, communications, cyber development and joint C2 operational capabilities and supervisory experience;

Integrating DoD's C2 cyber governance and management structures, operational architectures, strategic planning, and assessment;

Oversight of operational planning and execution functions at the joint task force or higher level, while working with NATO, allied, coalition, multi-national and/or interagency mission partners;

Performing joint interoperability and integration analysis and assessment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
