About our Unit:

3West is a 48-bed specialized unit comprised of rehab patients.

We are a skilled group of rehabilitation healthcare professionals who strive for excellence in providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Our goal-focused therapy guides our patients in their journey to independence and reintegration into community. Our team works diligently towards improving the physical, cognitive and communication problems caused by an injury or illness. We work with our patients to improve their quality of life and support their desire to return to meaningful activities.

Our patient’s success is optimized by self-motivation, active participation and family support.

Key Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing

Current certification or eligibility for certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse is required

Current BCLS required

FIM certification or willingness to complete certification within 6 months of hire

Recent experience with inpatient medical population required

Recent experience with inpatient rehab population and complex care needs population required

Recent knowledge of the philosophy and concepts of geriatric rehabilitative nursing practice

Demonstrates ability to provide patients and families with educational resources

Demonstrates patient and family-centered care

Demonstrates knowledge and ability to establish a therapeutic relationship

Evidence of on-going professional development

Satisfactory attendance and performance required
