About the role:

Our Electrification & Innovation (E&I) business drives Australia’s transition to cleaner energy by developing and scaling innovative, sustainable products. We focus on rapid product improvement and invest in novel ideas to transform Australian lifestyles for future generations.

The Product Owner is key in aligning a specific product with AGL’s business goals and commitments. This role manages the product backlog, translates user feedback and market insights into actionable tasks, and oversees multiple initiatives with support from a cross-functional squad and Electrification Business Analysts. A deep understanding of the product and the Australian energy system is required.

This position is part of an E&I value stream dedicated to incubating and scaling products that help customers decarbonize their lives.

What you’ll be doing:

Ensure delivery aligns with Product Roadmaps and value stream OKRs.

Develop and maintain a detailed Product Roadmap, ensuring it meets organizational goals and market needs.

Convert user feedback and market insights into actionable tasks to refine product strategies.

Prioritize and manage the product backlog, translating user stories into tasks for the team.

Monitor performance, analyse metrics, and adjust features and strategies based on feedback and market changes.

Define acceptance criteria, conduct testing, and ensure the product meets quality standards.

About you:

Previous demonstrated experience as a Product Owner, demonstrating successful oversight of multiple product initiatives.

Strong business modelling skills, capable of translating concepts into practical and scalable strategies.

Exceptional leadership and collaboration abilities, fostering a cohesive and innovative team environment.

Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, ensuring effective backlog management and sprint planning.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling clear articulation of product visions and objectives.

Proactive problem- solving skills, anticipating challenges and devising strategic solutions to ensure project success.
