Senior Estimator - Commercial Construction

Our client is a leading commercial construction firm specializing in high-quality building projects across various sectors including retail, office, healthcare, and industrial facilities. They are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Estimator to join their team. The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase by accurately estimating the costs of commercial construction projects, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop a clear understanding of project scope and requirements.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand project conditions and requirements.

Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.

Review and analyze subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness.

Prepare bid proposals and ensure timely submission in accordance with client requirements and deadlines.

Provide value engineering options to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and functionality.

Monitor and track industry trends, material prices, and labor costs to ensure up-to-date and competitive estimates.

Assist in the negotiation of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Participate in post-bid reviews and discussions with project teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators and other team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects.

Ability to Lead, Create and Complete Entire Project Estimates

Ability to research specified materials related to the project and find alternatives as required

Strong Owner and Architect Relationships

Strong Subcontractor Relationships

Ability to compete detailed On-Screen Takeoff

Set up qualified Subcontractor Bid Lists and willing to call the subs and get them to bid

Analyzing Bids and Scop

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Knowledge of project management principles and practices.

Ability to interpret and understand architectural and engineering drawings.
