Pay - $20.00 per hour

Schedule - Monday thru Friday

Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Purpose of Position:

To perform and supervise duties relating to the purchasing, preparation, serving, and clean-up of food in the operation of a child care center. Requires knowledge of Ohio State Health (food service operations), OSHA, and Child Care Center licensing regulations.

The Nutrition Coordinator is directly responsible for:

1. Preparing all menus for breakfast, snack and lunch on a weekly basis in accordance with the Ohio State

Child Care Center licensing regulations and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

2. Organizing and preparing $40,000-$90,000 budget for purchasing all food, paper products, and

classroom food supplies. (Budget size is determined by the size of the center.)

3. Maintaining a current kitchen inventory.

4. Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and snack on a daily basis, for up to 200 children depending on size of the center.

5. Washing dishes and cleaning up carts after each meal served.

6. Planning and preparing food items relating to parent programs and special events.

7. Maintaining kitchen and food service area in sanitary condition at all times in accordance with Ohio State

Food Service Operations regulations.

8. Ensuring successful passing of all inspections conducted by the Health Department.

9. Maintaining all kitchen equipment in proper sanitary and functioning condition and notifying Director of

necessary maintenance and/or replacements.

10. Supervising and directing the activities of kitchen support staff, if applicable.

11. Covering in a classroom or at the front office, as directed.

12. Other duties, as directed.

The Nutrition Coordinator must:

1. Be willing and able to impart information and orally communicate with children and others.

2. Be willing and able to understand and respond to oral communications and directions.

3. Be willing and able to read, understand and respond to written instructions, communications and materials.

4. Have the capacity to ensure the safety of, observe, and assess all situations involving a child, a group of children and co-workers.

5. Have mobility, strength, and dexterity to be able to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds; interact at each child's level; and retrieve children who wander and/or run from the group.

Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)

Some of our centers participate in the CACFP. The following information is required to be included in all job descriptions:

Mini University, Inc. participates in the USDA funded Child and Adult Care Food Program. All staff will record meal counts at the time each meal service (point of service) and follow procedures specified by regulations and appropriate FNS instructions and circulars for procurement of food, equipment and supplies. Staff complies with and meets all responsibilities and requirements set forth in 7CFR, Part 226, Child and Adult Care Food Program Regulations and other USDA-CACFP issued instruction, policy or guidance.
