Summary

This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion. This position serves as a CUE (Consumer Access Coordinator), providing expertise and assistance in creating policy, assisting groups with chartering a new federal credit union or securing share insurance for a new state-chartered credit union, and providing assistance with challenges that are unique to chartering, field of membership, low income, and minority credit unions.

As a CUE (Consumer Access Coordinator) - Open to all U.S. Citizens, you will:

Respond to requests from organizers seeking to charter a federal credit union.

Review and analyze applications for new charters and share insurance applications for proposed or newly state chartered credit unions.

Serve as a technical expert for a variety of stakeholders in interpreting complex aspects of NCUA's chartering policy in a readily understandable format.

Act as a liaison between organizing groups and regional staff in the final stages of chartering and early stages of operations of a newly chartered credit union.

Provide guidance and assistance in the development and review of Net Worth Restoration Plans for credits with < $10 million in assets.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

All applicants applying for the CU-13 grade level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-12 grade level obtained in the private or public sector. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:

Analyzing financial statements and strategic plans to determine the economic viability of financial institutions or proposed financial institutions;

Providing advice in writing and verbally to financial institutions or proposed financial institutions based on a review of their financial data; and

Explaining regulatory requirements to stakeholders. You must meet the qualifications for this position by the closing date of this announcement.

SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position in accordance with NCUA's compensation policy.

The salary range shown is NCUA's National Pay Rate (NPR) which includes a locality rate of 16.32% for the Rest of the U.S. (RUS) geographical area. Actual salary will be determined upon the location of the selectee and the applicable locality pay, per the NCUA's CU pay table, will be applied.
