Basic Function
Works as Mechanical Engineer to oversee and coordinate the facilities construction and design related activities.
Scope
Works with Facilities Support Services Department/Project Management Team.

Principal Duties
Front-end engineer for engineering & construction team inside JHAH facilities engineering/construction office.
Develops project facilities design from concept to FEED (front-end engineering design) stage.
Provides comprehensive complex engineering and design services by establishing the design criteria and implementing the preparation of specifications, design computations and deliverables in accordance with project requirements.
Mechanical design of fixed & rotating equipment such as piping, pumps, compressors, PSVs, storage tanks, vessels, control valves, heat exchangers, furnaces, fumes hood and AC systems.
Plans, develops, coordinates, reviews, and reports progress of all engineering work on a project or assignment.
Reviews and approves key mechanical engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
Supports detailed engineering, construction & commissioning stages as-needed.
Estimates staffing needs and schedules and coordinates work with client design lead to meet schedule dates.
Coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval on phases of work.
Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project teams.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree.
Experience
Minimum five Years’ experience as of broad progressive work experience in design engineering or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering in utilities, Mechanical plants, or engineering/ construction firms. Must have engineering experience in healthcare facilities (or equivalent)
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
CAD skills and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
Must have excellent understanding of international codes and standards applied like AIA, NFPA, UBC, ASHE, JCIA
Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English writing, reading and speaking.
