Project Geologist

ATI provides environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services, as well as Military Munitions Response Program support to the U.S. Department of Defense, including the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Interior, U.S. Department of Energy, and other federal and state government clients. ATI has a current need for a full-time Project Geologist. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior geologists and project managers to support our clients' needs and drive our company's mission forward. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting multiple commercial and Federal projects across the US including multi-year investigation and remediation contracts, emerging contaminant (PFAS) investigations and remediation, and due diligence.

Responsibilities

Manage and/or perform field investigations, collecting samples and data in accordance with project requirements.

Provide analysis of groundwater and soil samples, review analytical reports, and complete scientific reports based on the generated information.

Develop data tables, figures, and reports.

Assist with managing contracts and projects, coordinate field efforts, and develop documents in accordance with project requirements.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to accomplish project goals.

Assist in proposal-writing efforts.

Adhere to environmental regulations and industry standards in all aspects of work.

Travel of up to 25% to various destinations throughout the country may be required. Must be team-oriented, efficient, responsive to project managers and clients, and committed to a safe work environment.

Required/Preferred Skills:

Must be able to execute multiple tasks concurrently as project manager or field team leader; lift and carry 40 pounds of field equipment; excellent communication and organizational skills; experience working under detailed quality assurance/quality control programs. Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office applications. GIS or CAD experience is a plus. Experience with both Federal and commercial projects including due diligence, Phase II site assessments, and field sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor is preferred. Professional registration is a plus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

A minimum of 8 years of environmental field investigation experience.

Preparation of work plans and project deliverables.

Field subcontractor oversight inclusive of soil borings and well installations utilizing various drilling methods.

Collection of water, soil, and soil vapor samples utilizing various sampling techniques.

Project management experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Headquarters is located in Columbia, MD; this position is also eligible for remote or hybrid work locations.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (anticipate 40 per week). Occasionally may require 40+ hours, such as for field efforts.
