The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check that includes results from BCI & FBI, Public Safety, and State of Ohio Taxation. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.

All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services must partake in paid, mandatory 4 weeks of training. Week 1 is held at IRJCF, weeks 2 through 4 are held in Orient, Ohio, 10-hour training days, Monday through Thursday. The state of Ohio covers transportation, meals and lodging.

DYS is a "qualifying employer" for purposes of the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

The Opportunity…

DYS is seeking a Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 to oversee facility behavioral healthcare functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background and a passion to habilitate youth.

Specifically, the Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 will\:

· Within the scope of their licensure, provide social work services, including assessments; treatment planning; individual, group, and/or family interventions/sessions; crisis intervention; liaison services (e.g. with family, regional office/juvenile parole officers, release authority, school, courts, and other community support services); discharge and aftercare planning; etc. to assigned caseload of youth offenders.

· Consistent with policy, represent social and/or habilitative programming on the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDT). Establish and maintain working relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services. Contact parent/guardian (e.g., in emergencies, crises, transfers, etc.).

· Access, develop, maintain, and synthesize written and/or electronic documentation to satisfy requirements of federal, state, and local agencies; and in compliance with DYS policy (e.g., progress notes, institutional and community reports pertaining to the youth’s case; etc.).
