Our client is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer. This is the top-level class in the engineering series, and a PE license is required. You would bring 10 years of Commercial Engineering Design experience and 5-10 years of Project/ People Management experience.

You must possess a PE license.

Essential Functions include but not limited to:

• Manage and organize a department in their respective discipline by providing technical oversight, mentoring junior staff members, coordinating project schedules by assigning appropriate staff members and monitoring project progress adjusting as needed to meet company obligations.

• The Senior Engineer will monitor quality of documents and design calculations produced in their discipline to ensure projects are completed in a professional manner and in accordance with accepted industry standards including compliance with governing Building Codes, local ordinance, and design standards. Senior Engineers are to ensure company standards are followed and are expected to participate in the development of standards on a regular basis.

• Senior Engineers may be designated as the lead engineer on complex projects.

• Conduct in-house technical sessions in their discipline for the continued development of staff members and compliance with company standards.

• Work with office director in recruitment and retention of staff members to support the growth and/or technical needs of the company and office assigned.

• Provide support to developers, builders, contractors, and architectural clients pertaining to engineering systems design and building code compliance.

• Perform field observations to determine general contractor compliance with plans and specifications prepared by the company. Collect the necessary data for issuing reports. Develop recommendations for compliance as needed and provide reports to appropriate parties for documentation.

• Performance of basic technical drafting in REVIT and AUOTCAD as required.

• Perform a variety of professional and technical engineering functions involving planscheck, review, and may involve management of projects as directed by his/her supervisor or office director.

• Collaborate and confer with developers, architects, engineers, and contractors; provide information and assistance; interpret and explain codes, and regulations related to documents issued by the company.

• Track and monitor status of design progress. Coordinate efforts with the designated company Project Manager and the client contact.

• Coordinate projects with client contact to ensure timely and accurate completion.

• Plan and administer simple to complex engineering projects and contracts; estimate contract fees and set internal budgets and deadlines and prepare additional services, as necessary.

• May function as company liaison between architects, contractors, outside consultants, and project owner.

• Attend and participate in professional organizations to stay abreast of new trends, innovations, and developments in the engineering field.

• Perform a variety of related office or field tasks to gather, tabulate, calculate, analyze, interpret, and record data as needed for completion of construction documents and reports related to projects.

• Provide direct or indirect supervision to lower-level staff which may include assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work, approving leaves, and time off, handling disciplinary matters, etc.

• Perform related duties as assigned by the office director or other supervisor.
