Phlebotomy Specialist II, PRN

Coordinates inpatient and outpatient specimen collection and workflow to ensure specimen integrity, timely collection, and transport.

Collects samples from infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients using a variety of techniques.

Demonstrates knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance protocols.

Provides exceptional customer service and works to promote a positive work environment.

Enters required data elements, documents, and delivers specimens to the lab for testing.

Quality issues are addressed in a timely manner and appropriately escalated as needed.

Duties are conducted to ensure a safe working environment for patients, visitors and team members.

Requirements

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Training in a formal Phlebotomy program preferred

Skills:

Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills

Ability to collect blood samples from both adult and pediatric patients using venipuncture and capillary collections in various clinical settings.

Experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Shifts:

Required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends or overtime as need exists
