Irrigation Technician

Irrigation Technician Department: Engineering Employment Type: Full-Time Minimum Experience: Experienced Please note: While we are currently accepting applications for this role, the interviewing phase for this position may not begin until February 2025.

Job Summary: The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining irrigation equipment including sprinklers, pumps, water lines, and suction valves.

The Irrigation Technician may also be required to operate heavy machinery for trenching and install wiring systems for water timers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Irrigation Technician is responsible for, but not limited to the following: Inspecting and loading equipment for the day’s work.

Testing the soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs.

Mapping out areas for irrigation installation Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines.

Installing pumps and electrical timers.

Testing the irrigation system.

Conducting routine maintenance checks.

Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts.

Collecting, reporting and storing pertinent data.

Completing progress reports and associated paperwork.

Assist the Landscaping Lead/Supervisor with tasks as requested.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a landscaping environment.

Must be fluent in conversational English, Guest Facing Experience Customer service experience gained in a similar role is required.

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS: LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.

Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.

This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically fit.

Must have strong customer service skills.

Ability to work in an outdoor environment.

Ability to multi-task and think critically.

Previous work experience preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

May be required to work shifts.
