2nd Shift Material Prep Operator

Position Title: Material Prep Operator *Resume/Interview prior to placement*

Summary: A team of material prep operators will be using hand grinders, pedestal grinders and hand files to remove burrs and thread starts from various machined components in a safe manner. This is an hourly position reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.

$18-30/hour, depending on experience

* All positions will train on day shift for an extended period but will transfer to an off shift. *

1st shift: 6:48am - 3:18pm

2nd shift: 4:48pm - 12:48am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to operate manual Bridgeport machines, grinders and sandblasting equipment.

Effectively handle physical requirements of the position â which include lifting, standing and generally handling product weights in the area of up to 40 - 50 lbs.

Operate hoist system for moving and handling heavier materials.

Ability to comprehend all routing and product documentation.

Ability to effectively use hand grinders, pedestal grinders and hand files to remove burrs and thread starts from various machined components.

Ability to operate the parts washer.

Ability to maintain the work area including housekeeping and organization.

Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other department employees and other personnel as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.

Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and follow work directions in a safe and proficient manner.

Basic computer skills.

Mechanical aptitude.

Must be capable of obtaining a fork truck operators license and capable of operating a fork truck.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
