As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization’s preferred reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your consulting expertise and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports recruiting, retention, training and technical assistance, and capacity-building efforts for Army clients.

As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to plan, gather, analyze, compose, write, edit, and disseminate information, to include technical information, to support Army missions and improve relationships internally and with external parties.

As the organizational advisor of all aspects of oral and written communications, you’ll oversee and author client materials, including publications, group emails, intranet pages, training materials, industry articles, press releases, speeches, scripts, blog posts, and webcasts in accordance with the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Elements.

You Have:

10 years of experience with writing for a senior level organization

Experience with communications concepts, practices, and procedures

Knowledge of the formatting requirements of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA)

Ability to present ideas in speech and in written form to inform and persuade audiences at all levels of the organization

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Master's degree

Nice If You Have:

Experience with developing and implementing strategic communications plans for DoD, Federal, or governmental organizations

Experience with Quark, PageMaker, HTML, FrontPage, or Dreamweaver

Knowledge of DoD and Army organizations, processes, and communications policies

Possession of excellent organizational and editing skills

Possession of excellent written communication skills

Secret clearance

Master's degree in Marketing or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
