This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

Background:

A background check including BCI fingerprint check will be required on all selected applicants

What You'll Do

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio State Highway Patrol – History Unit

Report in location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223

Work Days and hours would vary between: Monday - Friday 8\:00 am – 5\:00 pm depending on student’s schedule.

Major/field of study should be in\: Criminal Justice, History, Journalism, Pre Law, Political Science; or related major that requires research and writing.

Job duties:

Assist with

o research

o special projects

o organization

o writing of published materials,

o compiling information

o researching and reviewing photos

o general operation of the History Unit.

This position requires research skills.

Qualifications:

Employment Requirements (all must be verified upon hire)

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:

Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.

Be in good standing with the college/university.

Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

Be enrolled in at least one course.

Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
