As a Loan Processor you will:

Responsible for preparation of all documents necessary for closing consumer loans.

Coordinate closings with members, Loan Sales Specialists, and Branch Employees by preparing closing packages for distribution to branches or directly to the member. Ensure timelines are met and closings are consummated as contracted.

Assist Branch Employees, Loan Sales Specialists, and Underwriters with questions regarding processing, underwriting, and closing of consumer loans, lines of credit, and credit cards.

Process all consumer loan applications in a timely manner and remote print to closing branch, mail to member, or utilize Docusign.

Set up files and obtain required documents to complete the loan file. Required documents may include such items as payoffs and releases, verifications of income, and purchase orders.

Satisfy underwriting and post-closing conditions.

Mail adverse action notices to borrowers as necessary.

Responsible for the on-going utilization of Docusign software, including creating and maintaining forms, as well as, loading updates as needed.

Produce weekly and monthly reports as required by management.

Serve as primary CPI contact, run bi-weekly reports, post CPI batches, and work with members and vendors to resolve questions and problems.

Book and fund closed loans that are not closed in the branches.

Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards.

Perform data entry for consumer loans. Work closely with centralized lending and sales to work out any underwriting issues that may arise.

Skills / Requirements

Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image as representative for the credit union. Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on commitments.

Ability to communicate over the phone including complaint resolution, settling disputes, resolving grievances and conflicts, and otherwise negotiating with others.

Desire to work with the public with a focus on meeting member needs.

Excellent organizational skills.

Requires judgment to apply broader aspects of established practices to situations, which go beyond clear, concise guidelines.

Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education or general education degree (GED). Some post-secondary education preferred.

Two to three years of related experience required.

Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).

Requires excellent computer and word processing skills. Experience with consumer loan software programs for document processing and loan origination required.
