The Workday Senior Manager, Consulting Services (Global Application Managed Services) should be a “go to” practice leader that provides expert guidance, advice, and development support to the AMS Consulting management team and their subsequent team members. This individual will assist the sales team with sales activities such as orals, estimations, and Statements of Work (SOW’s). This person works closely with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Managing Consultants, and leads, and acts as a liaison between the Consulting team and executive management. This person will assist in identifying business needs, staffing projects, and ensuring that the work/life balance of our consultants is monitored and adjusted appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:

Oversight responsibility for projects across the practice portfolio assigned.

Oversee and assist Engagement Managers and team members when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk and develop solutions and strategies.

Sales Support:

Support the RFP response and pursuit process for Consulting work.

Team Leadership:

Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Workday applications.

Promote a team-oriented, challenging and innovative work environment.

Lead and manage Senior Managers and/or Managing Consultants to ensure consultants are adhering to the activities, processes and procedures outlined in Workday and the Cynergy Implementation Methodology.

Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels.

Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence.

Ability to build trust-based relationship and identify and foster business development opportunities.

People Development:

Perform role of mentor and coach.

Analyze team skills and provide for cross training to maintain teams’ ability to staff projects appropriately.

Advise management team on team members’ level of expertise and availability.

Performance Management:

Establish direct reports’ goals and objectives during the bi-annual review process.

Direct the collection of performance feedback from customer and engagement/project manager on a quarterly basis or upon completion of project for your entire team.

Direct the collection of all internal contributions for team members assuring data is received by HR on a quarterly basis.

Drive bi-annual performance review process for the Consulting team.

Duties & Tasks:

Review estimates for sales opportunities.

Review SOWs for language and accuracy.

Attend Orals and prospect meetings.

Manage utilization to targets.

Monitor the sales pipeline to ensure accurate capacity planning for the team along with assigning resources to projects.

Schedule regular 1:1 meetings with direct and indirect reports.

Assess team member skills and maintain skills matrix.

Meet with team members bi-annually to provide performance and client satisfaction feedback.

Responsible for billable activity as a service delivery lead for the account(s) assigned

Skills & Requirements

Bachelors in Science\Engineering or BA or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.

4+ years of experience working on managed services in HCM or Finance preferred with expert level understanding in one of the on-prem or SaaS HCM\Finance platforms such as PeopleSoft, Oracle SaaS or Workday or SAP.

5+ years of HCM or Finance/Consulting work experience with a background.

Proven ability of leading teams of consultants in delivering complex technology solutions.

Proven track-record of client success with an ability to plan, monitor and report project plans with experience managing budget, scope and timelines.

Ability to speak to both the functional and technical aspects of HCM\Finance.

Ability to create and sustain a relationship with clients, inspiring confidence in themselves and the delivery team while driving to reference-ability.

Deep knowledge of HCM\FINS software industry market and products.

Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed.
