Role Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be part of a rotating shift schedule, where every four weeks includes one week of evening shifts and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining, installing, calibrating and troubleshooting of all electrical and instrumentation equipment, to ensure efficient and effective operation of production equipment. In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

Maintaining equipment and update records

Making recommendations for improvements to equipment and process

Be actively involved with improvements and root cause problem solving

Participate in daily ‘huddles’, actively discuss safety, quality and performance issues and suggestions

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continual improvement programs is a requirement of the job. The successful applicant must have the following:

Registered Journeyman Electrician certificate and Instrumentation certification.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skill.

Automation and PLC Control Logix 5000 experience.

Availability to work shifts, occasional call-ins and overtime is required.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must have and maintain the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, work in confined areas, and be exposed to a variety of environments (wind, dust, heights, hot and cold temperatures, etc.).

Note: This position is part of the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada Union, Local No. 401. The hourly rate for this position is $45.67 per hour. Occasional call-in and overtime will be required.
