NXP’s Automotive Sales and Marketing Organization is looking for high-energy, competitive and self-motivated professionals who are interested in being a part of a strong team that engages with our internal and external customers to apply NXP technology that enables the creation of valuable market leading products. We are looking for a talented technical leader to lead the Analog Field Applications Engineering (FAE) Team for the Americas Automotive Sales organization. This individual will manage an experienced, high performing, diverse FAE team, which helps develop and support our Advanced Analog mixed signal capabilities and leading-edge products. Areas of focus include power management, secure car access, vehicle electrification, sensors, vehicle network implementations, wireless communication, EMC optimization and various analog peripherals.

As a Director of Field Application Engineering, you will have the opportunity to take the lead in shaping our future business with a number of the biggest and most innovative customer/partners in the Automotive industry. With your knowledge and experience, you will lead the team in setting technical strategies to cultivate design win opportunities, drive roadmaps and be accountable in executing our growth strategy.

In this position, you will contribute to our high-performance culture by creating an environment that enhances team morale, motivation and employee satisfaction. You will optimize team success and performance by assigning product support responsibilities based on each individual’s technical experience, expertise, career goals and evolving product developments and company priorities. You will partner and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as customers, product line management, engineering management and sales leaders to successfully execute and achieve/exceed your financial targets. Facilitating alignment between key account requirements and product / roadmap deliverables will be a critical function of the role. You will be part of a global go-to-market team that delivers 2x market growth for all NXP’s businesses by building and maintaining strong relationships within the customers and within NXP. You will use your knowledge of the industry and customers ecosystem to best position NXP and execute innovative approaches to outmaneuver the competition!

Responsibilities:

You will ensure that your Field Application Engineer teammates show 100% accountability and ownership of NXP performance within the assigned technologies.

You will partner with Sales to supply technical solutions to deploy and execute a winning strategy focused on evaluating and selecting growth customers, identify all projects and relevant NXP devices, and position NXP to win every opportunity.

You will help drive design win and revenue performance for Automotive segment to meet/exceed targets. This includes supplying technical solutions, managing performance to target and participating in monthly business reviews.

You will influence technical strategies with the business lines to ensure that business goals are clearly defined and met.

You will engage in regular, honest communication with each team member to discuss performance to goals, personal development and career path objectives and potential. You will coach and mentor team members to improve performance levels and celebrate individual and team successes.

You will lead by example with contributions towards customer support when needed. You will share your technical ability, system knowledge, and advice with the team.

Essential Requirements

Bachelor/Master Degree Electrical or Computer Science Engineering

Demonstrated team leadership attitude and skills.

Experience managing technical professionals.

Strong Analog expertise with 10+ years of FAE or equivalent customer interfacing experience

Good balance of hardware, system architecture and application SW expertise

Proven experience with fast paced, pre and post sale technical problem-solving success.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to present, negotiate and influence at all levels of an organization, internally and externally.

Willing to travel as needed.

Fluent in English
