Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a well-established CPA firm in the San Diego area who has a specialized focus on providing tax, financial planning, and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and families, particularly those with substantial real estate holdings.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will oversee the tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals and clients with complex real estate portfolios. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax law, particularly in real estate transactions, partnership taxation, and wealth management. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to provide strategic tax solutions and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and review tax compliance processes for individuals, partnerships, LLCs, S-Corps, and real estate entities, including real estate investments, development, and management companies.

Provide strategic tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals and families with substantial real estate holdings.

Advise clients on tax strategies related to property acquisitions, sales, like-kind exchanges (1031 exchanges), and depreciation planning.

Conduct detailed tax research and stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws impacting real estate investments, high-net-worth individuals, and partnerships.

Identify and implement tax planning opportunities that align with client goals and minimize tax liabilities.

Collaborate with partners to provide clients with comprehensive tax strategies, including estate planning, succession planning, and trust administration.

Review tax returns prepared by staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.

Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff members, providing feedback and guidance on complex tax matters.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness to client needs.

Participate in business development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand services for existing clients and engaging with prospective clients.

Qualifications:

Bachelorâ s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Masterâ s in Taxation or related advanced degree is a plus.

CPA certification required.

8+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on high-net-worth clients and real estate taxation.

Expertise in partnership taxation and real estate transactions

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws impacting real estate and high-net-worth individuals.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex tax issues and provide clear recommendations.

Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Experience with tax software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with clients involved in real estate development, investment, or management.

Knowledge of real estate-specific tax incentives such as Opportunity Zones, depreciation strategies, and cost segregation studies.

Ability to manage and cultivate strong client relationships.
