Human Resources Clerk

Diocese of Camden, Camden NJ

This entry-level position will support human resources activities for the Diocese of Camden and its entities by facilitating the human resource process mainly in the area of benefits administration, which consists of enrollment, processing employee changes and updates. As a member of the Office of Human Resources for the Diocese, this position will also participate in team projects as assigned by the Director. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Catholic Diocese of Camden.

Schedule: 35 hours per week; Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains employee benefit records and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies

Assists with onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees

Assists with recruiting, including scheduling interviews and verifying references (as needed)

Performs data entry and filing of all HR related documents

Provides onboarding information for new hires which includes informational packets on our benefit plans

Processes all new hire enrollments into the benefits portal

Maintains and updates the benefits systems with changes, updates for employees as needed.

Provides assistance to active and retired priests when needed regarding the benefit plans.

Assists parishes and schools regarding invoices for their employees and changes and updates as needed.

Provide support to the HR team with tasks various tasks as needed

Contributes to special projects within human resources, on an as-need basis

Qualifications:

Coursework in human resources, communication and/or business administration.

Basic knowledge of human resources policies and procedure in one or more areas of human resources.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Proficient in computer and mobile device aptitude and literacy, including hardware and software, google drives and apps; ability to evolve current payroll/HRIS systems for greater efficiencies.

Strong organizational skills and ability to think and work systematically, building and maintaining systems and records to support infrastructure.

Professional demeanor with superior interpersonal skills in a service delivery environment.

Ability to manage several projects and deadlines at the same time.

Self-starter, well organized and focused on automation and efficiency.
